Police are investigating a burglary that occurred at a local liquor store early Thursday morning.
According to Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester, police officers responded to a burglar alarm at 12:44 a.m. Thursday at Brooks Liquor, 1837 S. Ninth.
He said that surveillance video indicated a male subject approximately 5-foot, 10-inches tall in a hooded sweatshirt, black coat, and athletic pants smashed the front door of the liquor store, possibly with a hammer. Once inside, the suspect went to a cooler and grabbed a six-pack of Keystone Light, but dropped one of the beers before leaving the store, Forrester said.
Total loss, including the damage to the door, was estimated at $500, he said.
