Joan E. McConnell

Joan E. McConnell, 89, of Salina, passed away peacefully, Jan. 22, 2019. She was born August 12, 1929 at Sedan, Kan., to Forest Paul Sears and Mary Grace Johnson Sears.

Joan is survived by: her daughters, Tonie “Jeanne” Dugan (Mike) of Topeka, and Kathy Cox, and Karen Boyles (Wayne) of Salina; son-in-law, John Miller of Salina; 11 grandchildren, Kevin Keller (Tami), Marci Clarke II (Edward), Jennifer Caldwell (JT), Brooklynn Miller, Geoffrey Cox (Katie), Justin Cox (Anne), Jessica Cox, Wayne JR Boyles (Shannon), Kelsey Abraham (Steve), Rex Boyles and Karissa Boyles; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces, Margo and Tessy and their families; nephew, Greg Ohmacht (Amy) and family who called and visited with Joan regularly. She also was close to her niece and nephews on the McConnell side of the family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; sister, Lorraine Sears Ohmacht, (2005); her husband, Rex, (1977); daughter, Marilyn McConnell, (2016); daughter, Sandra Miller; and grandson, Jeremy Boyles, (1986).

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. Burial will be private.
