Earthquake hits near Salina early Saturday

A slight earthquake shook the area early Saturday morning.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported that a 2.8 magnitude quake hit eight kilometers east of Salina at 12:20 a.m. Saturday. The locator coordinates put the quake just northeast of the intersection of East Country Club Road and Woodward Road.

The Kansas Geological Survey (KGS), however, is reporting that a 3.2 magnitude quake struck in Dickinson County northeast of Salina at 12:20 a.m. The locator coordinates put the quake east of Bennington and a bit south of Manchester.
