Dorothy (Frazell) Boyer

Dorothy (Frazell) Boyer, 79, of Salina, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019. She was born to parents Florence and Elmer Frazell on Nov. 4, 1939, near Downs, and graduated from Downs High School and Kansas Wesleyan University.

Dorothy was a committed educator who taught both elementary and pre-K education. She was also a dedicated volunteer who contributed much to her community, including work with United Methodist Church, Kansas Children’s Service League and Central Kansas District Master Gardeners.

She is survived by her son, Brent Boyer (Kristin), of McPherson; daughter, Anne Boyer, a granddaughter, Hazel Carson, both of Kansas City; brother-in-law, Wilbur Dopita Jr. (Elizabeth); sisters-in-law, Sharon Frazell and Lorene Frazell; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Judge Dan D. Boyer, on Jan. 31, 2018.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. Family visitation will occur prior to the service at 1 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Kansas Wesleyan University.
