A variety of items are on the agenda for the Salina City Commission meeting Monday.
Commissioners are scheduled to meet for a study session at 2:30 p.m. Monday in room 107B of the City-County Building, 300 W. Ash. The topic of the study session is a Kansas State University Global Aeronautics Initiative strategic planning update. Time for the public to comment concerning the study session is scheduled for 3:45 p.m.
The regular commission meeting is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. in room 107 of the City-County Building. A time for public comment is scheduled near the beginning of the meeting.
The commissioners are scheduled to appoint citizens to the Arts and Humanities Commission, Business Improvement District Design Review Board, and Salina Airport Authority. Those appointments include the following.
Arts and Humanities Commission
Appoint Taylor Gray to fill the unexpired term of Jennifer McCall until August 31, 2021
Business Improvement District Design Review Board
Appoint Haley Helzer to fill the unexpired term of Tyler Paulson until August 31, 2021.
Salina Airport Authority
Reappoint Brian Weisel until February 28, 2022.
Other items on the city commission agenda for Monday include the following.
- Award a contract for the Red Fox Lane Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation to Smoky Hill, LLC in the amount of $166,866.
- Consider Resolution No. 19-7656 authorizing the mayor to execute a license agreement with Samy’s OC, LLC to allow awning and canopy structures to extend over a public alleyway at the rear of the Old Chicago Pizza and Taproom Restaurant at 214 S. Santa Fe.
- Accept the offered drainage easement dedication for a detention basin serving the Exchange Bank development site at 1720 S. Ohio and authorize the mayor to sign the easement document accepting the easement on behalf of
the city. - Authorize the city manager to pay the annual invoice for dues and subscriptions to the League of Kansas Municipalities in the amount of $20,752.85.
- Consider Resolution No. 19-7658 authorizing the Mayor to execute a vault closure agreement allowing for closure
of an underground sidewalk vault in the public right-of-way located at 129 S. Santa Fe, north half of Lot 123 with Wyatt & Sullivan Law, LLC. - Hear the second reading of Ordinance No. 19-10992 amending the conditions of approval in Ordinance No. 88-9280 which vacated a portion of the frontage road located on the south side of East Cloud Street east of Ohio Street.
- Consider Resolution No. 19-7660 authorizing the mayor to execute the Kansas Limited Warranty Deed with Covenant with Salina Educational Automotive Museum of America, Inc. to transfer ownership of a Fourth Street parking lot.
Also on the agenda is a request for executive session (legal) to discuss the subjects of negotiations with:
- Saline County relating to the road annexation and impact fee agreement;
- Saline County relating to the Expo Center Lease agreement;
- Pestinger Enterprises, LLC relating to acquisition of the site for construction of the Police Training Facility with legal counsel.
