A 62-year-old Salina man was arrested Saturday night after an altercation with other residents in an apartment building in the 100 block of North Eighth.
According to Salina Police Detective Sergeant David Villanueva, Derrick DeLaughter was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault, battery, criminal threat, and trespassing.
DeLaughter got into a verbal altercation with another resident and then began swinging a black and red folding handsaw, Villanueva said. Later, DeLaughter was seen going down the hall with what was believed to be a rifle and threatening to shoot a female resident, Villanueva said. It was later discovered that the firearm was a BB gun, Villanueva added.
