Kathleen Louise “Kathy” (Gabel) King, 63, of Salina, passed away Feb. 7, 2019. She was born Nov. 30, 1955, in Dodge City, to Dorothy and Shorty Gabel. She married in 1974 and had a daughter, Nikki Gabel. She married Frankie King in 1983, spending many years in Solomon.
Kathy spent her childhood in Ness City, attended school in Jamestown, then Cloud County Community College. She worked many places including K-State, R&R Service Station, B&B Transformer, and as a 911 dispatcher.
Kathy is survived by: daughter, Nikki; grandchildren, Trey and Destiny; a great-granddaughter, and a great-grandbaby on the way; dog, Zeus; siblings, Dan Gabel (Shelly), Debbie Cantaluppi, and Kelly Gabel; and step-daughters, Joyce, Jill, and children.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother, Dave Gabel (Joy); and husband, Frankie.
Visitation will be 12-3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th St, Salina. Followed by a graveside service at 4 p.m. in Prairie Mound Cemetery, Barn Rd and 2200 Ave, Solomon. A reception following. Memorials to the family care of Ryan Mortuary.
