Salina police want citizens to be aware of a scam targeting persons with Medicare cards.

Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said Wednesday that the department had recently received reports of people being contacted by someone who was trying to sell them medical equipment, specifically knee and back braces.

He said the caller then asks for Medicare card information.

“We want people to know that this is a scam. It is not a legitimate business,” Forrester said.
