We’re in for more snowy, frigid weather.
According to the National Weather Service office in Wichita, wind chills from -5 to -7 will grip all of central Kansas
with wind chills from zero to -4 in those areas of south-central Kansas northwest of a line from Kingman, through Wichita, to just north of Eureka late tonight.
Then, it will be a dangerous situation for all areas from Saturday night to around midday Sunday. Snow is expected to spread across Kansas Saturday night and continue until around midday Sunday. The snow may be heavy, with 3 to 6 inch accumulations now possible. With north winds sustained from 15 to 25 mph with 30 to 35 mph gusts, blowing and drifting will occur.
Dangerous wind chills from -10 to -15 will grip all of central Kansas from late Saturday night thru midday Sunday with wind chills from zero to -10 across south-central and southeast Kansas. Wind chills late Sunday night and early Monday morning will be even more dangerous. Indices across central Kansas from -12 to -18 are likely with indices from -10 to -15 likely across south-central and southeast Kansas. Wind chills from zero to -13 below are likely late Monday night and early Tuesday morning with the coldest wind chills gripping central Kansas.
