Japanese sword, power tools among items stolen from south Salina residence

Power tools, pottery, electronics, and a Japanese sword were among the items stolen from a south Salina residence Thursday.

According to Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester, the burglary in the 1300 block of Crescent Drive occurred sometime between 8 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. Thursday while the owner was at work.

Forrester said items taken include the following.

  • Miscellaneous power tools valued at $300
  • A Japanese sword valued at $1,700
  • Pottery valued at $100
  • An old laptop computer valued at $100
  • A Blu-Ray player valued at $30
  • A Japanese folding screen valued at $50

Additionally, damage to the front door was estimated at $100, he said.

Forrester said the owner has an idea of who stole the items.
