Wind advisory in effect; rain chances increase over next few days

The National Weather Service in Wichita (NWSW) has issued a wind advisory for our area.

The advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. CDT Wednesday and includes Clay, Cloud, Dickinson, Ellsworth, Lincoln, Marion, McPherson, Ottawa, Republic, and Saline counties.

South winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts around 45 mph are likely.

Additionally, there is a chance for rain the next few days, according to NWSW.

Tonight
A 40-percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 4 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 55. Breezy, with a south wind 15 to 20 mph decreasing to 8 to 13 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph.

Thursday
A chance of showers and thunderstorms then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 1 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 67. South southeast wind 7 to 14 mph becoming north northeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Thursday Night
Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 10 p.m., then showers likely between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 1 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 48. North northeast wind 9 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Friday
Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 1 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. High near 53. Northeast wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.

Friday Night
A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 a.m., then a slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
