Have broke electronics gathering dust? The City of Salina has a place for them!
The city’s annual electronics recycling event is scheduled for 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the East Crawford Recreation Area-runway on Markley Road.
Tons of electronics have been collected over the years. According to Chris Slubowski, the city’s household hazardous waste coordinator, the annual collection event’s five-year average is just under 34.5 tons of material.
Many items will be accepted at no charge, while others requite a small fee. Still others will not be accepted. See the list below to see whether your electronics qualify.
For items requiring a fee, the fee must be paid by cash or check only. Checks must be payable to Midwest Recycling Center.
