Foley Power Solutions, a division of Foley Equipment, recently completed a solar microgrid installation on the roof of the company’s Salina facility.
The project represents the largest on-site solar installation for a commercial business in Salina.
Foley Equipment is a proud provider of solar, microgrid and energy storage systems to customers throughout Kansas and northwest Missouri.
The company’s 306 solar panel microgrid will create 112kW of renewable energy at a cost savings of $12,000 in its first year with a planned savings of $600k over 25 years. Installed by Cromwell Solar atop Foley Equipment’s 2225 N. Ohio St. facility, the solar panels will provide enough energy to power the entire building, and Foley will be net metering excess energy with Westar for an added financial benefit.
“Foley Equipment is committed to Salina. In 2018, we completed a new facility to serve our customers in central Kansas,” said Ann Konecny, CEO of Foley Equipment. “During the design stages of the building, we included a rooftop solar array to save on energy costs and to be environmentally conscious.”
The Cat Microgrid technology suite is designed to reduce fuel expenses, lower utility bills and decrease emissions while increasing energy efficiency in even the most challenging environments.
