The City of Salina has provided a downtown construction update.

On Tuesday, Smoky Hill Construction will be reopening northbound Santa Fe between Iron Avenue and Ash Street. 

Also on Tuesday, Smoky Hill Construction will close the Ash Street and Santa Fe Ave intersection. Here’s what you need to know:

• Ash Street will also be closed from Santa Fe Avenue to Seventh Street; westbound Ash Street will have to go north on Santa Fe Avenue.
• Eastbound Ash Street will have to turn on Seventh Street.
• Northbound Santa Fe Avenue will be able to turn east on Ash Street or continue north.
• The 200 block of North Santa Fe Avenue will be closed to southbound traffic at Ash Street. Traffic will have to make a “U-Turn” to exit this area.
• Southbound Santa Fe Avenue between Ash Street and Iron Avenue will be closed. All businesses on Iron Avenue in this work area will have access to their doors with parking in the back along Seventh Street.

Plenty of downtown parking exists in the public parking lots and along Fifth Street and Seventh Street.

This work is expected to be completed by the end of July, dependent upon weather.
