Earthquake near Plainville early Saturday felt in Salina

Amongst the thunder that was prevalent with the early Saturday morning storm that rolled through our area, did you feel the earthquake?

At approximately 3:50 a.m. Saturday, an earthquake struck northwest Plainville, just north of Zurich, in northwest Kansas. The U.S. Geological Survey is calling it a 4.5 magnitude quake, while the Kansas Geological Survey (KGS) has it listed at 5.4 magnitude. A second earthquake of 2.3 magnitude struck in the same area less than three hours later, according to KGS.

According to reports, the earthquake was felt as far away as Salina, Wichita, near Grand Island, Neb., and several places along the Kansas-Colorado state line. If you felt it, report it here.
