The City of Salina has announced a partial street closing on Monday.
According to information from the city, South Ninth Street between West South Street and West Crawford Street will be closed to southbound traffic from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the removal of the existing fire hydrants at the intersections of South Ninth Street and West Prescott Avenue and South Ninth Street and Washington Street. Access to adjacent properties will be maintained. Work is expected to be completed the same day and road plates will be installed to allow traffic to resume southbound.
Motorists are asked to follow the marked detour in place. The detour will begin at West South Street, west on West South Street to South Broadway Boulevard, south on South Broadway Boulevard to West Crawford Street, east on West Crawford Street to South Ninth Street and resume south on South Ninth Street.
Motorists may encounter minor delays and are encouraged to find alternate routes.
