Salina Police are investigating the theft of a handgun from a vehicle earlier in the month.

According to Lieutenant Jim Feldman, a 21-year-old female reported that sometime between July 18 and Thursday, someone stole a Taurus G2C Compact 9mm handgun from the glove box of her vehicle. The gun, which was black and turquoise in color, was valued at $275, he said.

Feldman said the woman does not know where the theft of the gun occurred and there were no signs of forced entry. Police do have the name of someone who may be involved in the theft and are investigating that lead, he said.
