Golden Eagles win TBT’s Wichita Regional with victory over Sideline Cancer

WICHITA, Kan. — In the end, it was the Golden Eagles advancing out of The Basketball Tournament’s Wichita Regional.

Dwight Buycks poured in a game-high 34 points, going 13-for-15 from the field, to lead the top-seeded Golden Eagles to an 88-80 win over Sideline Cancer at Charles Koch Arena.

The Marquette alumni also received strong outings from Jamil Wilson (22 points, 8 rebounds) and Andrew Rowsey (12 points). Raymond Cowels III had 20 points in the losing effort for Sideline Cancer, which fell despite shooting 50 percent from the field. 

With the win, the Golden Eagles advanced to Championship Week in Chicago, and will face the Jackson TN Underdawgs in the quarterfinals on Thursday on ESPNU at 8 p.m. CT.
