A Salina man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery-domestic violence Monday night.

Salina Police Captain Gary Hanus said Tuesday that officers were dispatched to an apartment building at 2140 E. Crawford around 10:30 p.m. Monday for the report of a domestic disturbance. Officers made contact with a 36-year-old female who reported that she had been strangled unconscious by her live-in boyfriend, Hanus said. The woman’s statements were consistent with the physical evidence at the scene, he added.

Anthony Ray, 46, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery-domestic violence, battery-domestic violence, and violation of a protection order, Hanus said.
