Board/commission appointments, bonds, and several resolutions are among the items on the Salina City Commission agenda for Monday.
The commission is scheduled to begin with a study session at 1:30 p.m. in room 107B of the City-County Building, 300 W. Ash. The agenda for the study session is as follows.
- 1:30 p.m. – Markley/Holmes special assessment follow-up
- 2:30 p.m. – Centennial Park review redevelopment options
A time for public comment concerning the study session topics is scheduled for 3:45 p.m.
The regular commission meeting is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. Monday in room 107 of the City-County Building. A time for public comment is scheduled near the beginning of the meeting.
Commissioners will be asked to approve a list of appointments to various city board, commissions, and other advisory bodies. According to information in the commission meeting packet, the city needed to fill 69 vacancies, however it was not able to fill 21 of the positions which were mainly youth member positions. Other items on the city commission agenda for Monday include the following.
- Consider adopting Resolution No. 19-7729 authorizing the city manager to issue a permit pursuant to Standard Traffic Ordinance Section 69 in response to the request of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) for the purpose of authorizing off-duty, uncompensated employees of the Salina Fire Department to collect contributions solicited from the occupants of vehicles in the city right-of-way in conjunction with the “Fill the Boot” campaign to benefit the MDA.
- Hear the second reading Ordinance No. 19-11012 levying special assessments against certain lots and pieces of property to pay the cost of abatements of nuisances.
- Water & Sewer System Revenue Refunding Bonds, Series 2019-B.
- Receive report on final terms of Bonds.
- Hear the second reading Ordinance No. 19-11011 authorizing the issuance and delivery of Water & Sewer System Revenue Refunding Bonds, Series 2019-B.
- Consider Resolution No. 19-7734 prescribing the form and details of and authorizing the delivery of Water & Sewer System Revenue Refunding Bonds, Series 2019-B.
- Consider Resolution No. 19-7735 authorizing the issuance of General Obligation Temporary Notes, Series 2019-2 as a private placement.
