Flash flood watches have been issued for counties in our area.
A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
According to the National Weather Service, a flash flood watch from 7 p.m. Wednesday through Thursday morning includes the following counties in our area.
- Clay County
- Dickinson County
- Ottawa County
Additionally, a flash flood watch from 8 p.m. Wednesday through Thursday morning is in effect for the following counties in our area.
- Marion County
- McPherson County
- Saline County
Thunderstorms will develop tonight and impact much of the area through the night especially along and south of Interstate 70. The storms could drop excessive rains of more than 3 inches in some areas overnight.
Flash flooding of low water crossings including some roadways could occur. Be especially careful at night and do not drive through flooded roadways.
