Salina Police are investigating the theft of a car and the theft of a license plate from another car in northwest Salina.
Sometime between 12:30 a.m. Tuesday and 11 a.m. Wednesday, someone stole a blue 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix belonging to Kara Moore, 36, of Salina, while it was parked in the 800 block of University Place, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said Thursday. The car’s ignition was not working correctly and the car could be started without a key, he said.
Additionally, a license plate was stolen from a car belonging to Holley Brockelman, 36, of Salina, that was parked behind the stolen car, Forrester said. It is believed that the license plate — KS 685 KTN — is now on the stolen Grand Prix, he said.
