Flood warnings continue for the area. Here’s the latest from the National Weather Service:
Saline County
A flood warning is in effect for the Smoky Hill River near New Cambria from late Sunday night to Tuesday morning.
- At 12:45 p.m. Sunday, the river level was 17.5 feet.
- Flood stage is 27.0 feet.
- Minor flooding is forecast.
- Forecast: The river is expected to rise above flood stage by early Monday morning and continue to rise to near 28.6 feet by early Monday afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage by late Monday evening.
- Impact: At 28.0 feet, flood waters flow over North Street just east of the intersection of Simpson Road. This location is 2 1/2 miles southwest of New Cambria.
Ellsworth County
A flood warning continues for the Smoky Hill River at Ellsworth until Monday evening.
- At 7:31 a.m. Sunday, the river level was 13.8 feet.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
- Moderate flooding is forecast.
- Forecast: The river is expected to rise above flood stage late Sunday afternoon and continue to rise to near 24.1 feet by early Monday morning. The river will fall below flood stage by late Monday morning.
- Impact: At 24.0 feet, extensive flooding of low-lying areas and roads around the area will be impacted including Kansas Highway 14. The bridge on K-14 becomes flooded along with some homes around the area.
Lincoln County
A flood warning for the Saline River near Lincoln from Sunday evening until Tuesday night.
- At 12:45 p.m. Sunday, the river level was 24.4 feet.
- Flood stage is 30.0 feet.
- Moderate flooding is forecast.
- Forecast: The river is expected to rise above flood stage by Sunday evening and continue to rise to near 36.9 feet by early Monday afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage by Tuesday early afternoon.
- Impact: At 36.0 feet, Kansas Highway 14 south of the gauge site begins to flood.
Mitchell County
The flood warning for the Solomon river at Beloit continues.
- At 10:45 a.m. Sunday, the river level was 16.8 feet.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
- Minor flooding is forecast.
- Forecast: The river was expected to rise above flood stage by late Sunday afternoon and continue to rise to near 22.7 feet by Monday morning. The river will fall below flood stage by Monday afternoon.
