The Saline County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a pickup and a chainsaw from a landscaping business east of Salina.

Sometime between Aug. 22 and Saturday, someone stole a red 2005 Chevrolet Silverado valued at $6,000 and a 12-inch bar Stihl MS193T chainsaw valued at $400 from Landscape Consultants, LLC, 1777 E. Old Highway 40, Saline County Undersheriff Brent Melander said Wednesday. The pickup had been parked in a secure location and the chainsaw had been stored in a secure location, he said.

Additionally, the pickup still had ghosting of the company’s former logo — Earthcare Services Landscaping — on the doors and a rusty bumper caused by fertilizer, Melander said. A toolbox was attached to the bed of the pickup, he said. The keys to the pickup were still secured inside the business, he added.

There was no sign of forced entry, Melander said.
