CONCORDIA, Kan. – Cloud County Community College women’s soccer player Aroa Nieto has been named Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference women’s soccer player of the week for her performances during the week of Sept. 9-15.
In games at Pratt Community College and against Garden City Community College, Nieto would score five of Cloud County’s nine goals as the T-Birds picked up a pair of wins to keep themselves undefeated in KJCCC West Division play. Against Pratt, the sophomore would score the first goal of the game to put CCCC up 1-0 and add an insurance goal later on in the first half as part of a 3-1 victory over the Beavers. The Madrid, Spain native would then follow up with a hat trick in a 6-0 win over Garden City to extend her consecutive games scored streak to six.
The award marks the second time this season that a T-Bird women’s soccer player has garnered Player of the Week honors, following Izabella Christina who earned the award last week.
