Small quake strikes Dickinson County Tuesday; another in Chase County Wednesday

HERINGTON — Another small earthquake shook part of Dickinson County Tuesday evening.

This time, the 2.3 magnitude quake was centered nearly 2 miles west of Herington. According to the Kansas Geological Survey, the temblor struck at 7:37 p.m. Tuesday.

Additionally, a 2.1 magnitude quake struck western Chase county at 2:34 a.m Wednesday. KGS indicated that the quake was centered approximately six miles north of Cedar Point or 10 miles east of Marion.
