Trojans Move to 3-0 in League Play

Friday carried a sense of importance for several different reasons on the campus of Southeast of Saline. The students were celebrating homecoming while the Trojan football team finished up league play hosting the Russell Broncos. The game was also the last tune-up before SES starts district play next week.

All things considered, it was a successful night in Trojan Land. The Southeast football team would score first converting a 4th and 21 from the 29 yard line as Junior quarterback Jaxson Gebhardt rolled right and threw back left to Junior Bryant Banks for a touchdown. Gebhardt would run in the two-point conversion as SES went ahead 8-0.

Russell would get a field goal to pull within five points in the first quarter, but Southeast would own the second quarter by going on a 24-0 run and taking a 32-3 lead into halftime. The Trojans would come out of the locker room and continue the avalanche by scoring the first 20 points of the third quarter and taking a 52-3 lead.

With a running clock the rest of the way, Southeast would get the victory, 52-10. Jaxson Gebhardt threw for three touchdowns to Banks, Tyler Breeding and Raef Boley. Gebhardt also ran for a touchdown and had an interception on defense, his fourth of the season. Along with the touchdown reception, Banks also rushed for three touchdowns and threw a pass to Chase Poague for a 2 point conversion.

Southeast of Saline (3-0) will travel to St. Marys (0-3) to start district play next week.
