Thief hits locations along North Hedville Road

The Saline County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a case in which unlocked vehicles were rifled through northwest of Salina.

Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan said Wednesday that between shortly after midnight to approximately 1 a.m. Tuesday, someone rifled through vehicles at four residences along North Hedville Road north of Interstate 70. The residences are within the 2700 block to 5100 block of North Hedville Road, Soldan said.

At one location, a wallet and garage door opener were stolen from a vehicle, he said. The wallet was located down the road, and while financial cards remained in the wallet, a Lowe’s card and the owner’s driver’s license were missing, Soldan said. The garage door opener was not located, he added.

At a second location, a DeWalt impact driver with battery, valued at $160 was taken, Soldan said.

Nothing appeared to have been stolen from the other two locations, he said.

Soldan reminded county residents to lock their vehicles and not leave valuables in vehicles.
