A Texas man was arrested early Sunday morning after a traffic stop became an alleged drug bust thanks once again to Karma.
Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan said Monday that a deputy pulled over a white Nissan Altima after he observed the vehicle make an improper turn off of Interstate 70 at Ninth Street at 2:13 a.m. Sunday. While the deputy was ticketing the driver, Billy Daniel Boone, 41, of Cuero, Texas, Salina Police K-9 Karma hit on the car, Soldan said.
Boone refused to exit the car and a window had to be broken to get him out, Soldan explained. Once Boone was out and the car was searched, authorities found a little more than a pound of marijuana and two handguns, he said.
Boone was arrested on suspicion of the following.
- Interference with a law enforcement officer
- Felony possession of marijuana
- Felony possession of drug paraphernalia
