Don’t forget: Several local safe trick-or-treat options

 

If you’re planning to take your children (or grandchildren) out Thursday and are looking for safe trick-or-treating options, look no further!

SM Hanson Music

SM Hanson Music is offering children a safe trick-or-treating option with a musical twist.

The first 250 children in costumes who stop by the long-time Salina music store after school on Thursday will receive a Latin Percussion Glow-in-the-Dark Chikita (mini maraca). The Chikitas are valued at $4 each.

SM Hanson Music, located at 335 South Clark Street, will be open until 7 p.m. on Thursday.


Cops and Costumes

The Salina Police Department is inviting community members to attend its annual Halloween event, Cops and Costumes, from 4:30-6 p.m. on Thursday.

The event includes the following.

  • Giveaways — candy and sticker badges
  • An opportunity to win Kenwood Cove day passes and AMC Theatres Salina movie passes
  • Meet and greet with police officers
  • Photo opportunities with police officers
  • Police vehicles on display

The event will take place in the front parking lot of the Salina Police Department, 255 North 10th Street. Parking will be available in the lot at 10th Street and Park Street.


Central Mall Safe Trick-or-Treating

According to information on the Central Mall’s Facebook page, the mall will offer Safe Trick-or-Treating from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday.


Trunk-or-treating with the Kansas Highway Patrol

KHP recruit class No. 59 plans to conduct a Halloween Trooper Trunk-or-Treat from 6-8 p.m. Thursday in the lower parking lot of the KHP Training Academy, 2019 East Iron Avenue.

The KHP’s newest recruits will be passing out candy and stickers, showing kids KHP patrol vehicles, and have decorated vehicles to enjoy.
