NWS: A bit of snow possible today

Snow may, indeed, still be on the way.

The onset of winter precipitation has been pushed back and bit and looks to start this morning for areas west of Interstate 135 and for early this afternoon for eastern Kansas, according to the National Weather Service in Wichita. Winter precipitation will slowly overspread the area today and continue into the early evening.

A trace to 2 inches of snow is possible along with pockets of freezing drizzle in the area. Snow rates are not expected to exceed a half inch per hour at any time.

With temps hovering near or slightly above freezing, best chance for slick spots look to be on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses.
