Police are actively looking for a known suspect after an alleged incident early Tuesday afternoon in west Salina.
Salina Police Captain Gary Hanus said Wednesday that a 25-year-old Salina woman was driving in the 800 block of Cherokee shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday when the male subject, with whom she had a prior relationship, struck the vehicle she was driving with his own vehicle and then drove away. A small child and a 52-year-old Salina woman were in the car with the woman, he said.
The woman immediately pulled over and reported the incident, which was the suspect’s third violation of a protection order in place to protect the woman from the suspect, Hanus said.
Because the incident was an intentional act, it does not qualify as a vehicle accident, he said.
Once the subject is in custody, Salina Police plan to request the following charges against him, Hanus said.
- One count of aggravated domestic battery
- Two counts of aggravated battery
- One county of aggravated endangerment of a child
- Three counts of violation of a protection order
- One count of reckless driving
- One count of felony criminal damage to property
