Rescue Mission Receives Large Donation

Salina Rescue MissionOn Monday, June 24, UMB-Bank Salina presented $5,000 to the Salina Rescue Mission in the name of Mr. Bill Hoffman. Bill is a member of the UMB-Bank Advisory Board of Directors.

“We are extremely excited to be able to provide this type of support to our local nonprofits, “said Jon Starks, community bank president of UMB’s Salina region. “At UMB, we place great value on the contributions of our board members and in giving back to our communities.”

On behalf of the Salina Rescue Mission, Steve Kmetz, executive director said—“We continue to work with more men than ever—providing safe clean environment, nutritious meals, offering the message of the gospel nightly with the sole purpose of empowering men to put their lives in order as citizens. We are serving nearly 5,000 meals each month and more than 80 men in the overnight shelter every night” And, “we are humbled that Mr. Hoffman chose us to receive this gift, THANK YOU Mr. Hoffman and UMB-Bank!”

“I saw an opportunity to help an organization that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of many people,” Hoffman said. “My family has deep roots in Salina, and each member of UMB’s Board of Directors is focused on finding ways to give back to the community. We don’t just attend board meetings and provide guidance; we find ways to lend a hand.”

“This gift was very timely in being given—we will finish our fiscal year in a few days and gives us a boost in raising our budget. Thank YOU UMB-Bank and Mr. Hoffman,” says Kmetz.
