MANHATTAN — Despite not getting drafted in the NBA draft Thursday, Kansas State’s Rodney McGruder will get his shot at playing in the league. McGruder signed a free-agent contract Friday with the Orlando Magic.
McGruder will play for the organization’s summer league team. Depending on how he performs, he will be given the opportunity to make the organization’s roster next season or explore options with other teams.
McGruder averaged 15.6 points and 5.4 rebounds as a senior at K-State.
