Breaking News Alert – It is cold outside.

The wave of winter weather we are currently experiencing is being referred to as ‘Snow-pocalypse’ by the talking heads on television. This name sounds quite familiar, as I’m pretty sure it’s a flavor of icee at the Snow Wizard on Ohio. (If it’s not on the menu already, I would like to introduce legislation forcing it to be, next spring).

Anyway, it always amuses me that with every shift of the weather, those on one or the other side of the global warming argument will justify their stance according to the current temperature. If it’s warm outside, it’s because of global warming. If it’s cold, it proves that Al Gore is an idiot, which is obviously not true because he invented the internet. Why are you laughing? I am serious! He did it! Ok, you caught me, I was teasing.

As for myself,  I haven’t made up my mind yet on the global warming issue. Partially because it hasn’t effected me yet, and mostly because I won’t be a certified climatologist until 2013 and we all know the world is going to end in 2012. (At least that’s what I heard on the Internet.)

Does ‘Snowpocalypse’ mean that Al Gore is wrong? No. It means that sometimes, it snows.

The real argument is whether we should further damage our economy by increasing regulations when we don’t really know if warming is truly manmade. (Anyone that says they know beyond a shadow of a doubt, that global warming is manmade is a buffoon.)

So don’t jump on the ‘cold weather = no global warming’. It only hurts the cause.
