Salina Bombers Grab Running Back

CalvinSalina, KS. – The Salina Bombers are pleased to announce the signing of running back Calvin Middleton.

Calvin Middleton is a native of Acworth, Georgia where he attended North Cobb High School. There he was named County Running Back of the Year as a senior after rushing for 1,138 yards on 135 carries…was a First-Team All-County selection and team Offensive Player of the Year…was also team captain…named the Atlanta Journal Constitution Player of the Week twice…also named the CSS Player of the Year after helping the Warriors to the Regional 5A Championship and a 10-1 record as a senior.

After high school, Middleton attended Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. Calvin earned his first start as a freshman in 2008 for the Gamecocks. Middleton was a threat at halfback and full back for Jacksonville State and was also a capable receiver out of the backfield.

At the end of his college career, Middleton had amassed 2,174 total yards on offense with 27 touchdowns. During his time in Jacksonville, the Gamecocks had 32 wins and only 13 losses.

Most Recently, Calvin Middleton participated in the St. Louis Rams 2012 training camp and participated in NFL preseason games with the Rams. Middleton was also in the Rams 2013 training camp but did not participate in preseason games.
