Democrat State Rep. Melody McCray-Miller introduced a bill in the Kansas House that would require all newborns in the state to be genetically tested to identify the child’s father.
McCray-Miller told the Hutchinson News that the bill is intended to help men. The bill would also apply to married couples who have several children.
According to the bill, if someone refuses to take the test or have it administered to the baby, courts can intervene.
