The Salina Journal carried Clifford May’s Nov 5 editorial (“Is U.S. Guilty of War Crimes?”) justifying war crimes and drone “extrajudicial killings.” Folks should know he is about as convincing as a fox shrugging off dead chickens in the henhouse.May’s biases are most clear in his 2004 directorship of the Committee on the Present Danger, a leader in delusional crusades against overblown enemies and arguably one primary reason for inflated taxes through unnecessary arms buildups.
For an articulate, dramatic, alternate perspective on drone strikes and misguided policies, see the film Dirty Wars, 7:00 this Friday, Nov 15, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship’s 3rd Friday film series.
