Last season the Salina Bombers assembled the CPIFL’s best offense and a defense that was near the top. For the Bombers, near the top wasn’t enough. The 2013 league runner-up has added two major pieces in efforts to become an elite defense, and the Bombers didn’t have to look far.

Defensive ends Meshak Williams and Adam Davis were both starters on the 2012 Kansas State team that captured the Big 12 championship. A core part of a dominant defense, Williams and Davis often had meetings in the opposing teams backfield.

Meshak Williams hails from Sylvester, Georgia and came to Kansas by way of Hutchinson Community College. Once in Manhattan, Williams started all 26 games that he played for the Wildcats. In 2012, Meshak ranked 9th on the team in total tackles, led the team in sacks and was also the team leader in tackles for loss. Williams signed with the Baltimore Ravens as a rookie free-agent in May of this year.

Adam Davis also found his way to Hutchinson Community College from Folkston, Georgia. After a redshirt season in 2010, Davis would start all 26 games for KSU in 2011 and 2012. Davis ranked 6th on the team in total tackles, second in sacks and second in tackles for loss (second only to Williams).

The Bombers are obviously excited about the pair of former Wildcats. “”The signing of Meshak Williams and Adam Davis is huge for The Salina Bombers.” says Bomber Defensive Coordinator Eric Clayton. “Williams and Davis will bring another level of play to our team and will fit right in with our returning players. Having several former K-State players on our roster is extra special to me, being a former Wildcat myself!”
