Dale A. Johnson, 82, of Salina, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013. He was born Oct 24, 1931, near Smolan, the son of Allen and Edith (Anderson) Johnson. Dale farmed his family’s farm, near Smolan, his entire life.

He also worked at Johnson’s Elevator in Mentor, Johnson’s Appliance in Salina and drove a school bus for Southeast of Saline school since 1974. Dale was a member of Salemsborg Lutheran Church and choir, Bethany Messiah Chorus, Lindsborg Masonic Lodge, secretary and treasurer of Isis Engineers, and was a board member of Saline County Rural Water District No. 3.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Irving Johnson; and two grandchildren, Allison and Chandler Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn, of Smolan; two sons, Perry (Darcy) and Greg, all of Salina; one brother, Clair, of Osprey, Fla.; one sister, Arline Roberts, of Salina; four grandchildren, Chadd, Jordanand Isaac Johnson and Megan Rondeau; and one great-granddaughter, Emma Rondeau.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, with family greeting visitors from 6-8 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at Salemsborg Lutheran Church, with burial in Salemsborg Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials are to the church, Shriners Children’s Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
