Barb has been chosen as the BANK VI Hero of the Week for her part in the revitalization project for north Salina. Barb states, ” Basically it’s a grass roots organization.” We have taken surveys of businesses and residents and asked, what do you want to see us do?

Barb says, “A big goal as of right now is getting a grocery store for north Salina.” A lot of us take the view that if we don’t do something to north Salina then we are just going to keep growing south.

Right now we have a grant through K-State Salina and that will help us do some more long term surveying of the community. This is the best way to figure out what everyone in north Salina wants.

Barb said she would like to see us build the population back up and put a school back on the north side of town. This isn’t going to be something that is done over night, we are in it for the long-haul. The city has been great to work with and the chamber of commerce has been on the same page with us.

Barb also extended an invite to anyone who would want to come to their meetings, its at 7pm and its the third Thursday of every month. The meeting is held at the Salvation Army.
