Tescott man dies in wreck Friday afternoon

Broadway and ChicagoIt appears that a medical condition was a factor the crash of a pickup Friday afternoon that killed a 71-year-old Tescott man.

Salina Police Captain Mike Sweeney said Richard Smock was northbound on the Broadway overpass about 3p.m. Friday afternoon, when his pickup went into the southbound lanes, hit the guardrail a sign, and tree before coming to rest on the west side of Broadway.

EMS crews tried to revive Smock who was taken to Salina Regional Health Center where he was pronounced dead.
