bra40112Evelyn Rose Braden, 89, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Kenwood View Nursing Home in Salina, KS. She was born August 26, 1924 to Leo Raymond Sr. and Margaret Katherine (Newcomb) Vermillion in Terre Haute, Indiana.

She was a loving mother and grandmother, and a member of First Baptist Church in Gypsum, Kansas.

Survivors include two sons, Frank L. and wife Charlene Braden of Salina and John W. Braden of Gypsum. Granddaughters, Tresea Matney and husband Jim and Heather Goodman; one great-grandson Jacob Matney; sister Margaret Holcomb of Tempee, AZ and brother Edward Vermillion and wife Eleanor of Plainfield, Indiana; and sister-in-law Syble Vermillion, Newcomb, New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank J. Braden; brother Leo R Vermillion; sister Mary Wilmarth and daughter-in-law Teresa La Vanway.

Memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 17, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Gypsum, Kansas. Visition will be at 1:00-2:00 P.M. at the church before the service on Friday. There will be a private burial at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Gypsum and may be sent in care of Ryan Mortuary 137 North Eighth Street Salina, Kansas 67401.
