In a big North Central Activities Association match-up, the Southeast of Saline girls got off to a slow start and the Ellsworth Bearcats were tough to catch up with. Friday night the Bearcats sprinted out to an early 9 point lead and held that margin all the way until the fourth quarter. In the final quarter, Ellsworth outscored SES, 16-9 for a 49-33 win. Ellsworth in now 9-4 overall and 4-2 in NCAA play.
Halle Connally led all scorers with 22 points for Ellsworth.
SES dropped it’s fourth straight game and is now 7-6, 3-3 in league play.
In the second game, the SES guys were dominant from start to finish. The Trojans led 8-0 out of the gate and outscored Ellsworth 22-8 in the second quarter for a 32-12 halftime advantage. SES cruised to a 62-42 victory.
There were four different players in double-digits for SES led by Kendal Peterson with 15 points and 9 rebounds.
SES is now 10-3 overall and 4-2 in league play. Ellsworth drops to 3-10.
