Three injured in icy Wednesday morning crash

The Kansas Highway Patrol reports a 2006 Mercury Mariner driven by Christopher C. Jaso of Scott City was northbound on K23 a mile north of Gove at 6:20 a.m.

The driver failed to negotiate a curve due to icy road conditions and travelled off the roadway into the east ditch.

The vehicle overturned an unknown amount of times coming to a rest on its wheels facing west.

Three passengers in the vehicle Skyler M. Denning, 23, Hoisington, Maria D. Cavender, 32, Great Bend, and Saxon A. Denning, 20, Great Bend were transported to Gove County Medical Center. Jaso was not injured.

The KHP said only the driver was wearing a seat belt.
