A Salina woman has been arrested on charges of theft and false writing, after allegedly taking jewelry from a home she cleaned, and then pawned some of the jewelry.

36-year-old Margarita Acosta is accused of taking a pair of sapphire and diamond earrings, a choker diamond necklace, and a white gold ladies watch while cleaning the home of Veda Barganier in the 2000 block of Pinecrest between March 12th and March 26th.

The value of the jewelry was placed at $3,375. Acosta went to Moneylenders Pawn and Jewelry at 301 W. Ash, and pawned the watch for $165.

Acosta was arrested on Tuesday. The watch has been recovered, but the earrings and necklace have not.
