Obituary 25 April, 2014

 2493736Dixie Deanne Peck Phillips, 67, Topeka, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014 in Salina. She was born in Salina on July 7, 1946 to Wayne and Thelma Peck of Bennington.
Dixie graduated from Bennington High School and she then received an Associates ofBusiness Degree from Brown Mackie College. She retired as Facilities Management Director for the Department of Social and Rehabilitation Service for the State of Kansas after 38 years.
Dixie enjoyed raising and showing Persian cats, floral design, and reading fiction. She was a member of a Topeka dog club and the Cat Fanciers Association. Dixie was also a long time member and Deacon of the Topeka Westminster Presbyterian Church.
She married Lonnie Henderson in 1965 and they had one son, Dale Henderson.
Dixie was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her son Dale Henderson and his wife Melissa Gane; and three grandchildren Tyler, Marlana, and Shannon.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M., Monday, April 28, 2014 at the Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Burial will be in the Bennington Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to service time Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or ASPCA.
