Former U.S. Senator and Republican Presidential Candidate, Bob Dole, was in Salina this afternoon at the Salina Public Library. The former Senate majority leader attracted a full crowd that happily greeted him.

Senator Dole took some time to answer some questions. A person in particular asked, what would you say to someone who is young who is wanting to get into politics? Senator Dole stated,” work for a campaign, city level, county level or state level. Get an idea if it is something you really want to be in.”

Senator Dole also spoke briefly of our war veterans and the importance of keeping our veteran hospitals above par.

Senator Dole was in town as part of a state wide tour to thank everyone for showing him support over the years.
