The Ell-Saline Lady Cardinals are headed back to the 2-1A KSHSAA Softball Championship. In 2013 the Lady Cards went in as the #4 seed and came out with a 3rd place finish. The Cardinals lost to the eventual State Champion, Chase County, in the semi-final.

This year, Ell-Saline has a shiny 23-0 record and heads into the tournament as the #2 seed. Chase County is back to defend their 2013 Championship as the #1 seed and a 23-0 record. Chase County finished last season 26-0.

Ell-Saline will start play on Thursday at 5:00 pm as they face #7 Spearville (16-7) at the new Great Bend Sports Complex.

2012 State Champ Hillsboro is also in the 2-1A tournament as the #3 seed. The Lady Trojans are 21-2 and will play #6 McLouth (17-4) at 7:00 pm.

Other area teams included Chapman in the 4A Division 2 State Tourney. The Lady Irish (14-8) are the #8 seed and will take on the #1 seed Jefferson West (19-1) at 5:00 pm on Friday in Pratt.

Minneapolis is the #7 seed in the 3A tournament. The Lady Lions (17-6) will take on the #2 seed in Humbolt (23-0) at 5:00 pm in Topeka at Hummer Sports Complex.
