Taylor Green from the Southeast of Saline FFA chapter was elected to serve as the 2014- 2015 state FFA president at the 86th Kansas FFA Convention May 28-30 on the Kansas State University campus. Green was among 20 candidates running for a state officer position to represent more than 8,700 Kansas FFA members.

As state FFA president, Green/Schifferdecker will serve on a team of six officers who will travel across the state sharing their passion for agriculture, leadership and service. Kansas FFA officers present workshops and conferences across the state and challenge FFA members to serve their communities and the agriculture industry.

The 2014-2015 Kansas FFA Officer team includes: President Taylor Green, Southeast of Saline FFA; Vice President Bethany Schifferdecker, Girard FFA; Secretary Jeff Hadachek, Repulic County FFA; Treasurer Chantelle Simon, Hill City FFA; Reporter Kyle Apley, Blue Valley FFA; and Sentinel Nick Meyer, Marion-Florence FFA.

A four-year FFA member, Green has served as Chapter President of Southeast of Saline FFA and North Central District President. Her Supervised Agricultural Experience Program (SAE) is in Equine Placement, where she cares for and manages her family’s mules. She plans to attend Kansas State University next fall and major in Food Science, with hopes of becoming a food science researcher.
